Two steps forward

While im writing this, the Finest Crew and dozens of teams, shops and scores of enthusiasts are preparing for the kickoff to this summer's show season. Gallons upon gallons of wax, armor-all, and elbow grease are flowing in the final hours leading up to the show, all for the chance at recognition; the opportunity to be seen and recognized within the bittersweet scene we all call our own. Stance boys, camber kids, low rolling big ballers and subtle bippu showstoppers are all vying for a bit of the spot light this weekend, and the motley crew ive called my friends are prepping.

It's bittersweet being an absent sponsor from the show. While it's far from the most ideal way to spend my day while a show is going on, i'll be working on other projects and keeping track of the coverage from the shop. But hey, its not all bad ( i work at a toy shop for christs sake) i'll be writing up interviews and contacting YOU about your rides, your progress, and your passions. It's gonna be a good day.

The best part of all of this is that even though im not going to be able to represent for Vegas and the Finest crew at the Import Face Off, we've got plenty of talent out there and we're all able to pool together to make something amazing happen. Anthony Ramos is probably finishing up some last minute details on the four door EF civic (props on making it into the EF sedan squad, brother) and dialing it in. the progress thats been made over the past few months has been nothing short of inspiring, and if you knew the struggle behind it you'd at the very least give him a nod.

Esteban Rojas will also be at the Import Face Off with arguably one of the cleanest ap2's in town with the canary yellow drop top and his newly added set of classy as FUCK wheels. but im not going to blow his cover, you'll just have to wait and see from the shots we get this weekend. OH YEAH!!! In a beautiful turn of events, we'd like to welcome to the Finest Family, Brandon Spann. Brandon will be our in house Peter Parker, snapping those tough shots and getting some sick video for us through the year.

To sum it all up, we're all stoked to see so much progress from each other and from the car scene out in Vegas. It's been a long hard winter, even if its been warm out here in the sunny South-west. stay tuned, we'll be sure to get as much coverage of local events and meetups through the valley in the next coming weeks, and we'll keep you linked in on all of our upcoming appearances and shows. I'll catch you at the next one, but right now i need a beer and an on call masseuse.

Tired AF,

Welcome to Altered State Performance

From the outset, we just want to thank everyone that has inspired this project into action. Without your positive vibes, time, good advice and faith in our abilities, this idea would never have taken form and progressed as it has. So, with that said, thank you.

With so many different styles and influences on the car scene these days, the gear heads now have a major struggle ahead of them; staying motivated, original and positive about their projects and cars against a massive group mentality and overwhelming popular opinion. The internet haters and the salty attitudes at shows has made it a negative place at times, and it can get disheartening. Whether you build your car to be seen or to be driven, you build your car to be enjoyed and appreciated.  We're here to be that harbor in the storm for real car enthusiasts.

The beautiful thing about the Forums are that they allow us all a chance to display our work and show our dedication to the passion we share: the folds and curves of a gorgeous body, the purr of a healthy engine painstakingly built by a loving owner, and the complete appeal of that car/truck/bike/scooter you've been slaving over for the past few years. The difference here is that we don't give a fuck about internet drama, forum politics, or local beef. We're here to feature REAL cars and REAL progress of everyday auto fanatics and their projects.

We're here to put the call out to the streets: send us your build, show us your projects, show us a progress report and we'll put you on the blog and feature you online. We want to hear the pulse of our scene and we want to see how your build is coming along. We've all seen SICK builds and projects that will never get into magazines or featured because they don't fit that certain profile or its not "magazine ready".

We're calling bullshit.
Show us what you've got.
